My Philosophy

My philosophy on health and wellness focuses on the mind, body and spirit of the individual.  I believe that each treatment should be customized for the individual's own specific signs and symptoms and that healing the root cause of the illness is the ultimate goal.  I think it is best to treat illness with the least invasive measures first and progress to more complex treatment plans only when necessary.  This approach helps to avoid any negative side effects and allows us an opportunity to assess and reevaluate the treatment at each step.  I will often employ a combination of acupuncture, auxiliary techniques and herbal formulas to address a condition.  Herbal formulas can be extremely effective in continuing a treatment long after the needles are removed. I ask my clients to open their minds to a different way of perceiving disease and a different way of healing the body.

About Me

Denise DuRoss is a Licensed Acupuncturist in the state of California.  Denise practices privately in the West Los Angeles area, as well as, making home visits. In private practice, Denise treats all conditions, but with a special focus on fertility, pain management, and adjunct cancer treatment. 

Denise studied at Emperor’s College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Santa Monica in a 4-year masters program. During her course of training, she treated patients at the school’s busy acupuncture clinic under some of the countries most notable practioners. She completed her residency at the Roy and Patricia Disney Family Cancer Center in Burbank, CA.  There she learned Master Tung painless acupuncture methods.  Denise also worked in a community style clinic treating HIV+ patients and the associated complications.  Denise is well versed in acupuncture, herbal medicine, guasha, cupping, and other traditional modalities of healing.
